In a time when businesses are closing because of the economic climate, it is so unfortunate that a thriving neighborhood business must shut it doors. Hyde Park has been good to us and we have so enjoyed serving you for fifteen years.

To keep the Dixie spirit alive and to provide a place where you may still get your Southern favorites we are adding the most requested items from Dixie Kitchen to the Calypso Café menu. Calypso Café will remain in Harper Court until the middle of 2012. Our other two locations in Evanston and Lansing, IL will also continue to operate as usual.

Starting Monday July 6, 2009 take a short quick walk across the bridge to Calypso Café and enjoy some of your Dixie Kitchen favorites: Our fabulous catfish, jambalaya, gumbo, fried green tomatoes and a whole lot more!!! Look for our future message in The Hyde Park Herald that will contain a copy of our new menu.

We’ll be there….hope you will too!!! We need and appreciate your support.

We continue to look for a viable space to relocate Dixie Kitchen & Bait Shop. We hope to be part of the community once again.
